Join with us for a week of praying and fasting
for God's kingdom to increase in our lives,
churches, communities and every aspect of culture.
Your will be done
In recent days and months we have seen a lot of shaking in the economy, in politics, the
media, in the form of natural disasters, man made tragedies, governments being toppled;
almost every day brings news of far reaching changes. Hebrews 12:27&28 indicates “...the
removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken
may remain.Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be
thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.”
This is a great time for the church to rise up to its mission: to advance the kingdom of God.
This literally means extending his rule and principles, his sovereignty over every area of
our existence: personal, communal, local, national, global. It says in Isaiah 9:7 “Of the
increase of his government and peace there will be no end” and we are in need of both his
government and peace here on earth more than ever.
In Matthew 28 Jesus calls us to teach and disciple all nations. Jesus' inheritance is not
individual souls (who together form the church, his bride), but nations. It's the task of the
church, his bride, to go and disciple, teach and influence nations because the ends of the
earth will be His possession (Psalm 2:6-8). Clearly, we cannot and should not impose His
rule, rather as Os Hilman says: “Influence is as a result of our love, humility and obedience
to God, not a goal to be achieved. It is the fruit of our obedience.”
And therein lies our challenge, that's how we are equipped and that's how we gain
authority and influence: by submitting every aspect of our lives to Jesus' rule and by our
obdience. As we are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2), we can go
and influence the sphere that God has called us into, whether it is serving him in the local
community, in business, government, education, family, media, arts & entertainment or in
the church.
We know that whatever the situation we are in, God loves this world and everyone in it, He
is good and His love endures forever. It's for us to spread that news, to take His principles
and solutions to a hurting and confused world, and to win our nations for Jesus.
Monday, 12th September
Sphere 1: Business
God gives us creativity, talents and skills in order to generate and channel resources through business for the building of His Kingdom.
- Prophesy finance to be released into the Kingdom; claim what is rightfully ours in Jesus
name! Haggai 2:6-8
- Thank God for creative ideas and favour for those in business in order to resource the
Kingdom. Deut 8:18
- That Christians will do business with integrity and their Godly values will influence the
business world. Col 3:23-4:1
The sphere which influences all others is business. Those who own land, property, oil,
minerals, businesses and shares have wealth and power to influence and fund ideologies,
projects and culture. Pray that God prospers Kingdom minded business people, that he
increases their wealth and influence, for their ability to chanel funds into kingdom projects.
Pray specifically for the people you know, especially in your church, who are in business.
Pray for their protection, integrity and a revelation of the authority they have in the sphere
of business and what it means to extend the reign of Jesus through business.
Pray for wisdom and solutions as those in business and government are working to solve
the world economic crisis.
Tuesday, 13th September
Sphere 2:. Government & Politics
God put government in place to establish boundaries, justice and freedom so that His loving kindness and righteous
judgements can establish His Kingdom reign on earth.
- Thank God for our local and national governments and pray that they would return
to and promote kingdom principles and values. Isaiah 9:6-7
- For Christians and those who carry these values to be promoted to places of influence
in all areas of government. Rom 13:1-4
- For the legal profession and police as they uphold the Law; for any corruption to be
brought into the light. Prov 29:2
Pray blessing on those in government and authority, who are faced with many pressures
and highly complex challenges. Pray that God would raise up modern day Josephs,
Daniels and people like William Wilberforce, who can influence governments and offer
solutions, which will benefit all, but especially those who are most vulnerable in society.
Wednesday, 14 September
Sphere 3: Education, Training
For education to reflect the truth about God and man and promote the true meaning of life. True wisdom comes from knowing Jesus who is “the truth that sets
us free.”
- Pray that biblical truth and prayer will be included by those who shape and
influence curriculums. Psalms 119:66
- That children and young people would be educated in a way that unlocks their unique
personality, gifting and value so they can find their God given destiny. Prov 22:6; Prov
3:13-18
- For a blessing on all who work in education, that they would have revelation of God's
wisdom, understanding and knowledge and for Christian heads, teachers and staff to be
filled with God's Spirit. Isaiah 11:2
Pray for the staff, teachers and headteachers you know, and how about thinking of ways to
express your thanks and appreciation for the job they do. Pray for those who are in
education or retraining to gain new skills, and for ideas and solutions for those who need
to fund further education for themselves or their children. Pray for the schools, colleges
and universities in your neighbourhood.
Thursday, 15th September
Sphere 4: Family
Family is God's plan to give security and love, a picture of His father love. May we
restore Christ as the head of our families.
- Declare that God's love is the hope for families. Eph 3:14-19;Psalm 68:5,6
- For those who are working to equip and strengthen marriage and family life. Mal:5,6
- That Christian families would submit to the Lordship of Christ and model His loving
kindness influencing those around.
Pray for marriages and family life in your church. Pray for those who work in family and
marriage counselling, those who foster or adopt children and for wisdom and sensitivity for
those who work in social services and in family courts who make decisions about
children's lives. Pray for laws and government which support and uphold marriage and
family life. Pray for those who are suffering as a result of domestic violence and those
who are working to bring God's redemption to victims and perpetrators.
Friday 16th September
Sphere 5: Media
God is always to looking to communicate His good news and truth with us. Pray that the media will use its influence to
promote truth, peace, good news and inspire high moral and public standards.
The BBC was founded on the concept of using broadcasting as away of educating the
masses. The coat of arms has on it “nation shall speak peace unto nation” a paraphrase of
Micah 4:3, Micah 4 is about establishing the Kingdom of God!
- Pray for these wells to be re-opened.
- For Godly people to become the decision makers and influencers in media. Isaiah
61:1; 40:9
- For good news to be reported nationally and locally. Isaiah 52:7; Prov 25:25
We are privileged to live at time when TV, radio, cinema, social media, magazines and the
internet spread news and knowledge at an unprecedented rated. Pray for those who make
decisions about programmes and contents, and for those who create content. Take a
stand against the sexualisation of our children and young people through explicit content
in films, music videos, games and on internet and gadgets. Pray for godly policies and
standards which stand for truth and high moral and public standards rather than profit or
power and for a wise balance between freedom of speech and protection from invasion of
privacy. Why not consider writing a letter of encouragement when there are good
programmes and good news!
Saturday 17th September
Sphere 6: Arts & Entertainment
For arts, music, sports, fashion and entertainment to celebrate and express our God given creativity, giving honour and glory to Him and inspiring
goodness, wholeness, purity, strength and beauty.
- Pray for more Christians to minister in this place from an excellent spirit as a result of
the fullness of Holy Spirit. Dan:5:12; Ex.31:5
- Pray and support those in this sphere who already produce great art, music, sport, films, fashion. Pray that art which has integrity, quality and excellence will attract the necessary funding and connections, that doors of opportunity will open.
- That many will encounter Jesus through creative expression that gives glory to God
 Sunday, 18th September
Sphere 7: Spirituality & Religion
Pray for the Church to be Jesus' hands and feet to a world that badly needs to experience a restored relationship with their Creator, experiencing His life changing power.
- Pray that the church of Jesus would increasingly rise up as the voice of hope in a multi
cultural society. John 3:16,17
- Declare Jesus is the only way to restored relationship with the Father. John 14:6
- That there would be an increasing demonstration of the power of God in signs, wonders
and miracles drawing people to Jesus. Mark 16:15-18
Pray for a fresh revelation of the church of its mandate and mission to have dominion and
extend God's rule and reign into every area of existence, that it will know how to serve and
how to equip the saints, so that they can transform nations.
