Reaching out into the Community in Uganda
Hey All,
We are taking SPLAAT!!! to the community once again. The first of 2009, almost six months after launching SPLAAT!!! within the community of Bulega.
SPLAAT!!! is apart of Raz-A-mataz Childrens ministry operating here at Akaloosa village - Uganda, and aims to reach out to children within Akaloosa and the local community of Bulega. This time around the SPLAAT team are stronger and are very very passionate than even before about working with the children they meet.
Last time around we thrived on the number of children that came through the hall doors - well, not exactly doors, more large holes in the wall - reaching around two hundred children, we were all very excited. This time round we would love to reach out to many, but we are out to change lives. Only three days this time, a fantastic team and the subject of FAITH!!!
We really are passionate about changing lives, with Day 3 looking at Salvation. After an excellent team meeting a couple of weeks ago, the team are totally up for next week.
Each of the days will have a scripture that will be taught from the team, rather than me and my true 'british' voice, 'if ya know wot I mean'. The team have taken on more responsibility to teach in local language. With Claire overseeing/encouraging the children, ensuring that all goes well as well as inputting into the program, and me empowering the team, ensuring that they feel confident in each area that they are going to be doing, the team are almost ready!!!!
I say almost as apart from some shopping needed for the week, the one major thing we as a team need is the support and Prayer from you all and your churches. We are all in this together, and as before we will give you a daily report - Power allowing!!
Many of the children continue to call out to us and come up and greet us. As the team took a walk to the local hall (location of SPLAAT!!!), the feel within the community was truly electric. How awsome to see God move.
We really appreciate your support, and look forward to contacting you all again next week. We are preparing for take off!!
